suicidewatch: The new issue of Ebony has an interesting article about the making of the all time classic Boyz N The Hood which celebrates it’s 20th anniversary this summer. As far as early 90s gangsta films it has aged a lot better than New Jack City but not nearly as well as Menace II Society. Sadly John Singleton never really lived up to the promise of this film (I can’t even think of another one of his movies I even like) but it’s still a reminder that at one time Ice Cube used to be a badass and that Cuba Gooding Jr used to be an actor with some skill.
